Warts

wart on the skin how to treat

Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.

The size of the warts varies. The formations can be the size of a needle and can reach the size of a ruble coin.

The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted through direct contact or through household items that are used simultaneously by sick and healthy people.

Typically, such growths cause psychological discomfort, since often the places of their localization are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with drugs, folk remedies, or hardware procedures.

Varieties of warts

  • ordinary (simple) - grayish-brown nodules of a round shape with a rough surface. These warts usually occur on the hands, face, and scalp. Widespread in both children and adults. Simple warts do not cause any pain, but they are quite unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, since they can form entire colonies of benign tumor-like formations;
  • plantar warts - occur, as the name suggests, on the plantar surface. In appearance, they resemble corns, consist of filiform papillae surrounded by horny layers. The reasons why plantar warts appear include constant pressure from shoes and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the area of the soles. When walking, such formations generate painful emotions and need proper treatment;
  • flat warts are small lumps that protrude just above the surface of the skin. They have a yellowish or flesh color and are most often seen in young people. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are absolutely painless;
  • venereal warts (condylomas) - get their name from the fact that they are transmitted during sexual contact and affect, respectively, the external genitals.

The main reason for the appearance of warts in humans is a viral lesion of the skin. The pathogen is passed on to healthy people through direct contact with a carrier of the virus or through household items. In addition, sweating of the skin, minor injuries, burns and some other factors can contribute to the disease. So, for example, plantar warts are easy to pick up while visiting the pool or gym shower.

Treatment of warts

Currently, the methods of fighting warts are generally divided into medical and surgical. The first involve the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, the application of destructive chemicals. All these actions have a relatively low efficiency and can help only in the event of the appearance of individual formations, and even in the early stages. For this reason, the modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which, in turn, are divided into:

  • surgical;
  • methods of cryodestruction;
  • radio wave surgery;
  • operations performed with the aid of laser technology.

The first two methods are characterized by a painful operation and a long healing period. Also, if not used correctly, they can lead to scarring and the reappearance of warts. Radio waves and laser surgery overcome these shortcomings and offer patients a quick, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, soles of the feet and other parts of the body.

Warts - folk treatment

People have a variety of recipes for getting rid of unpleasant skin growths. Here are the most popular:

  • plantar warts are easily removed by applying a cake consisting of a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and wheat flour. Apply a small amount of this test to the wart and secure it with a plaster or bandage. The bandage is removed after 2-3 hours. If it has not gone away, the procedure for removing the wart is repeated again. Also note that in place of the fallen formations, small painful dimples will appear. A bandage with ointment is applied to them, which is worn until the wounds are completely healed;
  • warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of Kalanchoe pinnate leaves. Attach them to the warts and bandage them with a bandage. After 3-4 procedures, the warts will disappear;
  • effective mixture, which is prepared with garlic and lard. Spread it on a cloth, put it on the wart and fix the bandage with a plaster. It is necessary to change the garlic and tallow mass every day. The course of treatment lasts 4-5 days;
  • it was noticed that if the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice every day, it will begin to decrease in size and completely disappear after about 10 days. Fresh juice from mountain ash or tomatoes has a similar effect;
  • powders from crushed cornflower seeds have a good result. They should be done daily. You can also mix the powder with lard and get a wart remover ointment.

Remember that if you have warts, alternative treatment must be agreed with your doctor or an experienced homeopath. Do not self-medicate, as it can lead to unexpected and sometimes very unpleasant consequences.
